This is unrelated to my actual cover but just Italian pronunciation tests. Can you, as a native speaker, tell me which one sounds the best and what can be improved to sound even better? I know you would probably tell me all are bad because for a native speaker every non native attempt sounds bad (I can relate as a Polish speaker) but here are my attempts:
Can you guess why the accent sounds slightly different in these attempts? Not revealing the reason right nowā¦
For the other two, even if you get the sās and rās right (except for a few), itās a question of an incorrect use of vowels that distorts the meaning and pronunciation.
But as for all languages already supported, whether in beta or not, even having support for each of them (as it probably will be for Italian and as it is for Spanish, French, Portuguese etc.),you always have to get your hands on the parameters provided, such as strength, duration, mouth opening and so on.
It will never be possible to obtain the perfect result by simply inserting the sentences into the lyrics.
Yes, the third option is bad. And is it the first or the second one better?
Also I used the parameters (incl. mouth opening and stuff) for these as well but since Iām not a native speaker so it came out, as I suspected, bad.
so what do you think? is the first one or the second one better? You already told me the third one is bad (and I agree, in fact when I was making this I thought that as well, that the third one is the worst) but in terms of pronunciation, do you prefer the first or the second option?
Itās to much going on in there (the both versions)⦠I only use Spanish and found my way with it. Iām not gonna spend more time in processing with other languages such as Portuguese, as it is the totally wrong way to reproduce Italian. For easier and faster results when I make my important productions I use ACE Studio anyway. Things may change when finally Italian will be implemented in SynthesizerV.
the first one is Spanish, the second one is Portuguese and the third one is Chinese. And I totally agree with you, too much āfiddlingā is too much. But Iām thinking maybe the āgliā sound could be improved??? Or open e/o? Though I think maybe use āMouth Openingā for that? Iām not Italian so I canāt tell.
though with my understanding of IPA, maybe the āthicknessā of the Portuguese vowel sound is what causes the accent issue? So I think that Spanish is good for imitating Italian, but I would maybe add a few phonemes from other languages if needed (though Iām afraid it might worsen the accent).
A lot of things can be improved but itās ok so farā¦
I think itās better let people at @Dreamtonics do their stuff. Theyāre doing well after all.
I agree that they could use more advice from native speakers out there who are willing to help. But anyway they have own ideas on how to get through the path and itāll be difficult to convince them to do different. So letās go on with what we receive, step by stepā¦
I agree. Iām wondering what language will come in 2027 (Italian maybe?), Also, them doing German and Portuguese immediately after French was so unexpected, I couldāve bet Italian would be next after French. But if not Italian, what then? Russian? Hindi? Iām pretty sure itās not Polish
I would take Polish and solemnly welcome it in the synthesizer and cheer. That would work fine in Czech. And I can sometimes manage the āÅā in Spanish now, except for words like āstÅechaā ā¦
Iām from the Philippines and would really appreciate a tagalog/visayan language to be integrated in Synth V, but i understand that this might be close to impossibility so for now I am using Spanish instead and just play around with the phonemes, and built my own library for different Filipino dialects and languages (Tagalog, Visayan) from it.
It can at least make an accurate pronunciation 90% of the time but I am having trouble putting a glottal stop (cl) in multi-syllabic words, as this is common in our language. In other words, i cannot build a multi-syllabic word in my library with a cl on it, if this will be made possible in the future it would greatly help reduce a lot of editing time as i mostly use SV2 in choral arrangements.
Yes thats wat I do, bt it can only be done by using it in the phoneme editor, not in the library. It will save me a lot of time when i can customize words with glottal stops(cl) on it. As for now i can only do it with mono-syllabic words.
Some Unicode characters are swapped out for others:
U+0060 ` GRAVE ACCENT is replaced with U+0027 ' APOSTROPHE
U+00AA ĀŖ FEMININE ORDINAL INDICATOR is replaced with U+0061 a LATIN SMALL LETTER A
U+00BA Āŗ MASCULINE ORDINAL INDICATOR is replaced with U+006F o LATIN SMALL LETTER O
U+00B4 Ā“ ACUTE ACCENT is replaced with a space character followed by U+0301 āĢ COMBINING ACUTE ACCENT
U+00A8 ĀØ DIAERESIS is replaced with a space character followed by U+0308 āĢ COMBINING DIAERESIS
while most of these are not ASCII and thus unlikely to be used as phonemes, the usage of ' as a substitute for ` is fatal for Chinese phoneme input.
