[NEWS] Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pre-Orders

When you purchased the version 2 upgrade, a new activation code adds a new product in your product manager (my.dreamton…) as you saw.

Like all other companies, they manage their own upgrade pricing. And they have until March 21st to send a mail to each of their customers for their process.
I hope the same price ($19 per voice) can be applied… but not sure, see below…

I have received a mail from another voicebank company for the Oscar voice (voicemith). And their upgrade price is >= 30$ (999 NT$ TWD).
So we have to wait for Eclipsed…

Yes but nothing about the V1 to V2 upgrade. We can assume that information is for a completely new product. That is another question too.

In the demo video I see the mouth panel with some adjustments. I think it’s a V2 because of this new feature.

Yes! And that’s exactly that kind information is to be displayed on the “Announcements” categories in this forum… by Dreamtonics!

When I choose “Upgrade for Voice Banks 2.0 - any number” I got an email from Dreamtonics with the wording
“Product Name: Dreamtonics Voice Upgrade 6 Voices - OnlineStore”.
So I was wondering if it was really limited to 6 voice banks?
And I’m still waiting for a reply.
But in my product manager I upgraded more than 6 voice banks.
And now all the new V2 voicebanks are added (and waiting to be downloaded on March 21st).

I have several voice banks, but only want to upgrade two. Unfortunately, I can’t choose which ones when ordering. Not even when checking out. I can only enter a number, e.g. 2. Does anyone know if this will be sorted out later?

You can select purchase only 2. And then on the product manager page (my.dream…) you select the 2 voices you want. Then apply and your 2 voices V2 will be added to your product page.

Thank you very much!
but in order to sell more products, I would have made it a lot more complicated up until checkout (just kidding).

I understand for current users interested in the new voices, that already own Mai and several other VBs, opting for one of the new 2 (in my case Liam, since is English native) and then upgrading Mai as part of the upgrading package (free if Mai is your 6th voice or up) is the way to go.

Except Mai isn’t in my list of voices I can update…But like you I will choose Laim, I only ever use Mai for backing vocals occasionally, so might be nice to have a V2, but not a necessary thing.

It almost seems pointless to pre-order since the price will remain low until after April 20. If that’s the case, then I might as well not pre-order and just buy them at the beginning of April, unless pre-ordering gives me something more that I haven’t read yet.

Yes, you can! You can buy them on the last day, April 20th. “You just have to wait!” (> 2 months now) and you may have to test your patience and nerves from March 21st.

On the Dreamtonics announcement page, there is a Q&A:
Q: Is Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro compatible with existing projects of Synthesizer V Studio 1.x?
A: All version 1.x projects can be directly imported into version 2, but since some software functions are no longer used in version 2, some edits of the project may be reset to the initial state.

OK, before loading the previous V1 project, we need to take care of it
And a new question appears:
What kind of “edits” could we lose?

The good news are that we will Keep both versions V1 and V2. So you can keep your old sessions running on V1 and only use V2 for new or still in progress projects.

Yes but what happens to V1 voices when they get upgraded for V2 compatibility or upgraded for full V2 functionality? Do I end up with 3 sets of voices like,

Voice V1 original
Voice V1 upgraded for V2 compatibility or V2 functionality
Voice V2 new

But why would Eclipsed email me? They don’t even know me since I purchased EVERY voice I own from Dreamtonics! And since I purchased from ONLY Dreamtonics why can’t I upgrade those voices along with the package deal for upgrading voices?

Because Dreamtonics is the controller but not the voicebank provider & owner. So price are managed by Eclipsed but registering is by Dreamtonics.

1/ SynthV version 1 with all V1 voicebanks
and independently:
2/ SynthV plugin version 2 with voicebanks V1 (converted) and voicebanks V2.

All versions of SynthV will have their own independent folders and subfolders I guess. In that case, voicebanks V1 could not be used directly on the SynthV Version2. But only with the process “product management” registration and conversion for the plugin V2.

It makes no sense! I found the voices for sale on Dreamtonics website. I purchased the voices from Dreamtonics website. I registered the voices at Dreamtonics website. I have not engaged nor interfaced with Eclipsed at any time. Why would I not continue to purchase any upgrades through Dreamtonics? I hope they fix this!

Yes, all voicebanks purchased from their website should be fully managed by them. And voicebanks purchased directly from other vendors would not be (with the exception of Dreamtonics’ signup process). So it’s a mixed situation by default. But if I only trusted the announcement page:
“Upgrade plans for non-Dreamtonics voices will be announced separately by our partners.”
