Hi,
Has anyone been able to successfully create a gospel choir with Synthesizer V?
Does anyone have any tips/suggestions as to how to do this and which voices to use?
Thanks.
Hi,

With the latest beta version (2.2.0b3) of SynthV, I think the new âunisonâ feature can convey the sound quality of a gospel choir, like I showed in this post.
Hello everyone, I tried to create a production with Synth V and a âmodernâ Gospel style. Here is the result attached. The first half is âslowâ and the second half âfastâ, with a lot of funk and choirs. Here is an English version, 100% Synth V for the vocals (but before the recently introduced âchoirâ function), and a French version with a real singer, but choirs entirely done with Synth V.
English version : Love Is Coming â Advent Song - Contemporary Gospel
French version : LâAmour sâavance â Chant de lâAvent - Gospel catholique contemporain en français
You created a beautiful choir sound here
May I ask how many, and which voices did you use?
Thank you, robert
Hey Robert,
So Iâve been working with SynthV 2, but this was before they rolled out the âchoirâ feature. My choir setup has 3 voices per sectionâexcept for sopranos, where Iâve got 5. Sopranos: Solaria, Sheena, Mai, Lin Lai, and Yun Quan. Altos: Weina, Felicia, and Natalie. Tenors: Kevin, Liam, and Ninezero. Basses: Asterian, Frimomen, and Wei Shu.
But I didnât just dump all 14 voices into SynthV and call it a day. I exported each voice individually as WAV and brought them into my final mix in Nuendo 14. For Wei Shu, I even added Vocoflex with the baritone presetâotherwise his bass range sounds pretty weak. Doing it this way let me control panning (where each voice sits in the stereo field) and add slight timing offsets, because in a real choir, nobodyâs perfectly in sync. After that, I ran the whole thing through a reverb (Raum), and boomâdone!
Itâs definitely not perfect, but honestly, it gets the job done!
AhâŚ. Thanks for your reply
Thatâs quite some singers indeed, and I guess it helped a lot having this choir sound in the end. I am using the Beta 2.2.0b1 and tried out the doubling feature, but honestly did not like it so much (maybe it got improved in the last Beta?). Iâm sure you did a lot of manual work to come to your successful rendering. It would be great if one day you could make a video where you go through all the steps required, also how you used Vocoflex.
Kind regards, Robert
