I’m also waiting for the French language option, but only if it’s truly usable. I got a refund from Ace Studio because the result was so poor. So I’d rather wait a bit and get a great result.

There is no confirmation. There is not a single line about French. 
I am wondering: is French secretly canceled?
I predict the Tone Chroma voicebank will release sometime in May 2026. Maybe it’s the French language, but I don’t know, it could just be another English or Spanish voicebank

Yes, it is indeed available on ACE, although the voice quality there is somewhat lower.
Cantai, however, is releasing an integrated version for Dorico, Steinberg’s notation software, on April 30.
At present, Cantai already supports English, Latin, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese.
The April 30 Dorico release will add full support for French, Italian, and German.
The overall announced quality is expected to be significantly higher than that of ACE Studio, notably with the inclusion of the London Choir.
I really hope French is added soon. From a phoneme manipulator’s perspective, the addition of French could make making other languages easier. Without French, many languages would require extensive phoneme manipulation and switching between all six language. With French, many of these languages can now be created by simply combining French with another language. One may be able to create “presets” of distinct language families by combining French with another language:
English + French: West Germanic
Spanish + French: Romance, Northern Germanic, generic Western European, Austronesian, Uralic, Ecclesiastical Latin, Modern Greek
Mandarin Chinese + Spanish + French: Slavic, Romanian, generic European, Esperanto, Caucasian, Ancient Greek, Classical Latin
Japanese + French: African, indigenous America (Nahuatl, Quechua etc.) probably with occasional use of other languages
Mandarin Chinese + Cantonese Chinese + French: Asian
Korean + French + Spanish: Altaic
Korean + French + Mandarin Chinese + Cantonese Chinese: Old Korean
Mandarin Chinese + Cantonese Chinese + French + Spanish: Old Chinese

Mandarin Chinese + English + Spanish + French: India
I think Q4 of 2026 (specifically near November) is the next most likely time period for French addition if it isn’t added in April-May, though April-May still remains likely.
If French is added in April-May 2026 - I will be excited
If French is added anytime in 2026 - I will be happy
If a different language is added anytime in 2026 - I will be surprised
If no new language has been added by January 1st, 2027 - I will be disappointed

I’m assuming you mean Hindi, but how would you achieve emulating retroflex consonants (such as /ʈ/) and voiced aspirated consonants (such as /bʰ/)?
I am talking about India as a country and various languages spoken in India

Phonemes I used
Sounds are: bʱ, ʈ, ʈʱ, ɖ, ɳ, ɭ
For bʱ I used Japanese, but I think the same phonemes will be in French (French doesn’t have a /h/ phoneme but I’m pretty sure it will be added as an extra phoneme as it is used for breathing effects)
For the retroflex sounds I used Mandarin Chinese (except the N cl which is a Japanese sound but I’m pretty sure any nasal or pre-voiced sound would work)
These are sounds you may use in other languages. (Vietnamese, Polish, Nahuatl, Italian, Greek…)

Spanish ll should be /ʎ/ already but the I sound is added to prevent the “sticky jju” effect.

The addition of new languages is probably not Dreamtonics’ top priority. Other issues, far more strategic in the field of AI-based music synthesis, are highly competitive and most certainly absorb a significant share of their current development efforts (this is, of course, an assumption).
Nevertheless, it is worth noting the very “French-sounding” name Aurielle — at the very least, an indication of some level of interest.
Moreover, some voices, through careful manipulation of phonemes, perform better than others when it comes to French. I also observe that the ability to generate French — on the one hand by leveraging phonemes from other languages, and on the other hand through the mouth‑opening parameter — continues to improve steadily.
Could it be that, behind the scenes, the engine is gradually handling more and more French? Miguel’s latest statement at Dreamtonics clearly encourages patience… but after all, will this wait really be that long?
What exactly do you mean? I am not aware of any new updates. If there wasn’t any and you’re still at 2.2.1, this is impossible as a new update needs a new installer that you have to manually switch on.
There’s also a May newsletter but it doesn’t mention the voicebank apart from the statement “post-development work on our next Tone Chroma voice”
This is a yellow color, so yellow voicebank is likely. The question is: is it a new language??? Doesn’t look like it, but we’ll see…
