As a music producer actively using Linux for my workflow, I’ve been successfully operating Synthesizer V Studio on this platform. While excited about today’s announcement regarding Synthesizer V Studio 2, I was alarmed to discover that Linux has been omitted from the listed OS requirements on the product page. Could the development team clarify:
What motivated the decision to discontinue Linux support?
Is this platform exclusion temporary or permanent?
Are there plans to reintroduce Linux compatibility in future 2.x updates?
This change significantly impacts Linux-based creators like myself who rely on this software. I would greatly appreciate an official explanation regarding this platform policy adjustment.
While I can’t speak for Dreamtonics, the usual reason for dropping support for a platform is, that the number of users/revenue doesn’t justify the workload necessary to support it.
Well, I got a response from Dreamtonics. In case anyone needs it, I put it here:
We sincerely apologize that Linux is not supported in Synthesizer V 2.
We cannot promise full compatibility on Synthesizer V 2 with devices that do not meet the system requirements: Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro - Dreamtonics Store
Also, we currently do not provide Linux VST plug-ins in Synthesizer V 1 for product security reasons. We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you again for your interest in our products.
We hope you have a nice day.
I wonder what the security reasons are. Linux is not so secure? A platform for hackers? I really don’t know. Maybe Linux’s problem is more of a security concern related to the guarantee of licenses linked to the hardware.
