Vocoflex VS Audimee

Hi there fellow Dreamtonics users. Thinking of purchasing Vocoflex.
I have been a SynthV user for a while now & have done a number of compositions using that software (using Studio One DAW etc.), mostly by extracting vocal tracks & building them up in SynthV. And I just purchased the next SynthV upgrade coming up this month.
For the users of Vocoflex here, how does using it compare to using a service like Audimee? (which I currently subscribe to).
The obvious comparisons are the price point ($25/month VS $199/one time purchase). I live in Canada & the price of course gets larger according to current exchange rates LOL!
Just curious if anyone else here has maybe used both services & could comment on what they think about it.
Thank you!

Hi. Used them both extensively for a few months (Vocoflex) and longer (Audimee).

Vocoflex advantage is that you can use your own samples to influence the sound, and it works pretty much real time, rather than having to upload, process then download as per Audimee, so you can experiment a lot more.

You can of course upload short clips to Audimee to test the voices, but in terms of workflow, Vocoflex is far superior. I dropped my Audimee subscription for Vocoflex, and to be honest, I haven’t missed it.

Having said all that, IMO Vocoflex is overpriced, excellent software that it is.

Another option that is more of a straight alternative to Audimee is Sonarworks SoundID:

It is on sale as of today so I am going to jump on board. I’ve tried the demo, and it is pretty similar to Audimee and a lot more reasonably priced than Vocoflex.

My ten cents …

The Audimee cost (as just a home studio having fun kind of user) is a bit too much right now.
I did try out SoundID a few months back but I didn’t care for how it worked in the DAW so I let the trial run out. And you really can’t do that many tests with 9000 credits (with full songs anyways but in hindsight, I guess I could have just used snippets to test it).
But I am trying it out again on a particular song with Kevin’s vocals, going to see how that goes until the credits run out.
I might just indulge in SonarID as it is on sale, sounds like a good deal.
I did send an email to Dreamtonics asking if they have a “loyalty” type of discount, let’s see where that goes LOL.
Thanks for the reply & the tip!

So I jumped in on the SoundID deal (cheaper again through AudioDeluxe.com) and just got it fired up tonight for testing.

Definitely as good, if not better, than Audimee in quality and options on voices. Fast processing on the PC means it is easy and quick to audition voices in situ. Same price as a few months of an Audimee subscription, so a definite no-brainer alternative to Audimee.

Only downside I noticed was that it can highlight (and not in a good way) any imperfections on Synth V vocal lines. Just means taking even more care to get Synth V tweaked to perfection.

Interesting that I tried to substitute a couple of projects where I have been using Vocoflex, with SoundID, and TBH Vocoflex won out on those. So definitely not a direct swap to VF, but a reasonably priced alternative. All depending on your individual needs I guess …

Yeah, I sprung for the SoundID as well today. $69 isn’t too bad. got it through PluginBoutique.com though as I have purchased there before & they have virtual cash etc. (probably same idea as AudioDeluxe).
Gonna give it a try with the full entourage as it is now perpetual. Thanks for heads up again about this, it seems decent & a one time purchase so what the heck eh?
I also went to cancel Audimee but at the end it asks “why you cancel”? I said too expensive. So they said here’s 50% off for 2 months LOL. I’m just a sucker for those. We will give both products a try for a while & see what comes out of it.

Yes, it definitely gives us the opportunity to really fine tune SynthV for sure and it will sound better overall.
