I keep getting a notification that a newer “Synthesizer V Studio version is available” notification, even though I’ve downloaded and run the update several times.
Any ideas on what might cause this, and how to get rid of it?
Which version are you currently running? I am on 1.11.2 which is not requesting an upate.
Just wondering, do you have both versions, Studio Pro and Studio Basic installed? Is it possible you updated Pro, but are launching the Studio Basic version?
I’m sure that’s not it.
I’m on 1.11.2 also.
I have to add some text in order to get The Forum to allow me to post this reply!
(It said my reply was too short)
So, when you start the program a dialogue box pops up stating 1.11.2?
I was just wondering if your desktop shortcut/start menu entry, which ever you use — is it pointnig to the correct version, if the previous version was installed in a different folder and is still the version being run despite multiple re-installs in a new, different folder?
Does that make sense?
My shortcut is for Studio One which is pointing to the correct version of Studio One for sure, but you might be on to something. I need to look at what version of Synth V that S1 is pointing to. Might take me minute to figure out how to do that.
Actually - I’m looking at the Synth V that is brought up when I add it to a project - and it is 1.11.2.
So - back to square one … everything is loading the “right” version.
And you have the same request to update when SynthV is run as a stand-alone?
I am into guesswork now, I don’t have S1 and only once tried SynthV as a Bitwig plug-in - didn’t suit my workflow.
I will check that.
I have to go now - duty calls
Just wanted to say “thank you” for your suggestions and interest.
I just sent emails to both Dreamtonics and Studio One support.
Hopefully I’ll hear back from one of them in my lifetime
When you update Synth V, it does not Auto Update your version. What it does right now is just download the updated exe. It’s up to you to quit synth v and find the downloaded exe and run that. It will then show you the familiar install wizard to install the new version. When it asks to create a shortcut on the desktop, I generally say no because I already have one. The next time synth v is started everything should be copasetic.
I need to do this each time there is an update. It’s just how things are right now.
