Trying to get Asterian "sky" to rhyme with "eye"

Right now, I’ve got it as ‘s k ay’,
I’ve looked at the diphthong chart. I use “ay” in other places and it sounds ok, On this one word spot it just doesn’t sound like a long “I”.

It is hard to describe what it does sound like, all I can say is it doesn’t sound right. I tried adjusting the Tension, which helps sometimes, but no joy

Any thoughts?

It would be good if you could describe more precisely how it should sound.
To me both articulations (sky and eye) sound pretty much the same.
I use Asterian’s default voice.

You might also try /s g ay/, since in English it’s common to replaced an unvoiced stop consonant with the voiced versionif it’s preceded by an /s/.

Try ‘s k ah ee’. Sometimes you REALLY have to break down the phenomics of the word.

I’ve had success by hacking the words themselves. Try this:
See your eye(s)
In thusk eye
or
In thus guy

If “eye” already works for you, the easiest solution is to create a small note in front of it that contains [sk] separated, then you can try playing with duration and strenght until you get the results you want.
