The Baggage Handler -original song, featuring Natalie and realistic lip syncing
That’s great! I’m curious about how such a thing is done. First, how do you generate such a realistic avatar that is reproducible from one view to another? And then, how do you animate the lips according to the text? What tools are used? How much training time did you need to master them? Is it simple or complex to do for a beginner?
It says in the description of the video just how it was done. Search for Hedra AI, and there’s your answer.
Nice bright tune. Pleasant and catchy. The video ruins it.
That’s a good start with the AI video. But to make it more engaging, I suggest you go one step further. Your lyrics tell a story, so you could support it with a video clip of your singer acting in different scenes, rather than just a close shot with a static character lip syncing in the foreground and airport images in the background. It just need more image generation process with your character.
An interesting piece taken as a package. A drawn out, mundane story told in a straightforward, reportorial style, yet I found it funny and engaging, like you were daring me to stick with it for a payoff that is in itself mundane as well. So… good work! You say the song/story is an allegory. For what?
Hi Gallacier, I used Hedra AI to generate the video of the female singer. Hedra is very easy to use but it is limited. It took a lot of trial and error attempts to get something acceptable. It has a big problem with non-voiced (instrumental solos) parts of the song. I contacted Hedra and they stated that they are working on this problem. I spent most of the time trying to work around this. I used DaVinci Resolve to edit the video. It was also easy to learn. I worked on the video, on and off, over a two week time span. This included the learning curve for Hedra and Davinci Resolve.
Hi Keith, Thank you for taking the time to comment. The song is a musical allegory because every element in the lyrics represents something other than its literal meaning. The baggage in the song is actually the emotional encumbrances that can weigh a person down. It is an emotional burden that becomes debilitating. The Baggage Handler is the guy that people tend to go to for the purpose of talking about their personal ‘issues’. He is a good listener and offers helpful responses so his friends keep returning to him when they need to talk. His problem is that he is tired of being the recipient of all of those negative feelings.
I like the idea, the song is funny, bravo! I was just thinking that if i want my songs on Spotify, I need to pay some service to get heard. While Youtube is free if we learn how to make a video, so I second the idea of learning tools for that
Nicely done - Very interesting lip sync tech - seems limited to a talking head POV but would greatly benefit from wide angle shots and movement effects, or at least panning, Ken Burns etc. (I’m sure it’s either just a higher price - or still in development to get there.)
