Synth V 2 and Ableton Live

Is anyone else having issues using Synth V 2 in Ableton Live? When I hit play in the Syhth V 2 plugin, there is no way to stop again. The stop and pause buttons in the plugin have no effect nor does the stop button in Ableton. I end up having to close Ableton.

Hi, I encountered the same problem. I run it as VST in Ableton 12 Standard. When I press play in the DAW and when the Synthesizer V window is open then the entire interface stops being responsive… I almost can’t click anything… it is very slow. But that’s not all. Also when I try to add parmeters panel then basically it freezes… I can’t do anything. I tried with Reaper DAW and it works fine. So integration with Ableton is a problem :frowning:

Yep definitely a problem with Ableton compatibility. Hopefully they’ll fix it promptly. There has already been one update since launch which is encouraging. Hopefully the Ableton fix will be in the next update.

Reading the main Dreamtonics thread I don’t think this will happen in the 2.0.2 update. But I hope I’m wrong. Render speed has improved significantly (which is what I wanted for smoother DAW workflow). However, as long as I can’t use it in Ableton it rules out any usefulness for me.

Hi, on my side I encoutered the same kind of issues also in Reaper. Sometimes, it’s nearly impossible to stop playing, the whole GUI is freezed for looong times and keyboard shortcuts don’t react either.
Everything is freezed for minutes even without playing, whereas CPU and memory are far from 100%
I think there are actually issues with the VST in general, not only with Ableton.
When I close the plugin Window, it seems to work much better.

Sorry to hear that. Its all very frustrating. They clearly rushed the new version probably in an attempt to stay ahead of the growing AI vocal market. Looks like they’ve done themselves more harm than good.

They say they are aware of the issue, but with so many other serious bugs being reported, I doubt it will be a priority for them. They really have made a mess of the whole process.

I have the same problem with Ableton live 12 suite.

It seems that Ableton is not the only factor, because it works fine on Ableton on another computer… yes, with more resources, but not much, and come on, I tested on a project with only one track (no other VSTs). Besides, resources should matter when rendering the vocal (and this works very fast even on a computer with less resources) and not when playing. The problem here is clearly with the interface…

For me, switching Ableton to use the high-performance GPU instead of the integrated one improved things significantly (still not ideal, but at least not as frustrating).

New alpha build solved my issues. I hope it does for you too

I think there have been two updates since synth v2 release
The update seems to have improved compatibility with Windows 10, etc.

But I’m still very anxious about working with Live 12. For synthesizer v1, when I put all the projects into Ableton Live, there was no anxiety at all and it was very stable.

As for v2, the live optimization is still very inadequate. It’s so unstable that I’ve put all the MIDI and audio files up, but they don’t work together like before and they crash a lot. Other than that, the mouse and keyboard movement stops in live, and the file movement and sound mix when I play it in synth V2.

I hope the optimization improves soon. As a solution, I’m working on a project by separating only the music files, but the current work is also very unstable.

Looking forward to working on the update!
