Preserve parameters for a group

When using Synth-V, with a group containing two notes that were edited with the exact pitch and vibrato rendering parameters, I want to preserve that specific rendering so that I can place the group of two notes into a phrase AND when the phrase gets re-rendered, the two notes in the group do not get rendered again. So for example words like ‘only’ and ‘every’ can be rendered in many different ways. I created two note renderings with the word ‘every’ and placed them in their own group. I want that specific group rendering to never change again for that specific voice data base. (I know some of the other voice settings will change while I am creating a new singing phrase.) However, the Pitch and Vibrato settings need to be frozen for that two note group. With the Settings checkboxes ‘From Manual to Sing Mode’ and from ’Sing Mode to Manual’ I cannot control the re-rendering of the group and the ‘every’ word I created is destroyed.
How can I accomplish this so that if the word ‘only’ is rendered as ‘own-lee’ versus ‘ownlih’ in a sung phrase I want to keep it fixed while words around it in the phrase are re-rendered.

This is like a group-lock for the two notes and the particular voice.

Any ideas?

The purpose of these actions is to recreate the result. So there is no way to lock some notes currently. If you know all the settings you need for this, you can create a script to apply your settings. Apply (after all actions) for these selected notes some fixed settings. So whenever you need to retrieve your settings for the selected notes, you can run your own script (assigned to a keyboard shortcut) to retrieve your note settings.

think about how vocal takes and comps work. you might put those groups on a separate track (call it a “take”) so it’s not in the cluster of notes to be regenerated on the main track. later, in your DAW, combine the tracks.

i do this when i’m switching vocal modes like sing vs rap, and speaking lines, or just as effects for the main vocal. i’m not limited in SV or my DAW for # of tracks, and combining in Sonar using an Aux track or buss is trivial.

another option is to mute all the other tracks (like instrument reference or other vocals) and just render those as the master output, then copy that away to your project audio (although my preference is in the DAW for much more control).

Thank you fossile!
I should have thought of making that part piece meal as well.
Just another track with the same vocal db settings and some audio cut/paste magic.
Or multiple tracks for certain words…

(P.S. I used Sonar years ago…and now Logic Pro)
Thanks again.

Any ideas as to when Synth-V 2.0 might appear?

Thanks jfa. I knew that those checkboxes were only for switching between Sing and Manual modes. There are no other settings to adjust other than fossile suggestion to make more tracks.

I was replying to that assumption.

OK, it seems that I didn’t understand well when reading the first post.

No worries, thanks for replying.
