I think because of my advanced age, I’m starting to re-live those parts of my life which brought me so much joy and fun, where dreams were almost as good as the real thing. I grew up in the era of party rock, and during its zenith, I lived in party rock central - Vancouver, BC, where it was never unusual to run into any of a number of rock stars in any strip club on Granville Street. I was always bumping into guys ranging from JB Jovi to Steve Tyler or the boys from Loverboy, many whom I had met at Mushroom Studios or Little Mountain Sound where I had sessioned over the years. So it’s hard for that stuff not become pretty foundational when it comes to remembering good times.
And Soros seems to agree
I think he sounds great in this tune - channelling everyone from Paul Stanley to Brian Johnson to Brad Delp. Considering the song itself borrows (well, steals) from the bands they sang in, I guess that’s no surprise.
Anyhow, I hope it puts a smile on someone’s face.
