"On My Own" from Les Miserables

I haven’t created much that would interest you guys but I thought you might like this, one of very few covers I have done.
On My Own
I thought Solaria’s voice would work well as Eponine, any thoughts please?

All I can say is that apparently, you’ve got it down.

Thank you for that.
I will admit to having spent a full week tuning this, thinking “that’s it!” then the following day going back and doing more tuning and remixing the backing yet again.

Yeah, I have the “it’s got to be perfect” artist thing, so I know what you mean. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nicely done. There are a couple places in the double-time vocals (like 2:10) where a real singer might have relaxed the word “stranger” instead of rushing it to the beat. But that’s just nit-picking :+1:.

@SynergyV
Thank you for the feedback, I will try the suggested tweaks

in the double-time vocals

and (here goes for another round of tuning) see how it works out.

While you’re at it… one way to humanize it a bit would be to relax the vibrato and make it more organic in places by manually redrawing the pitch curves.

Right now it’s the exact same speed/pitch every time and comes on quickly/automatically on sustained notes - many singers are able to start without it and ease into it and also back off on the tails of notes. Try altering the timing selectively.

The repetitive speed and pitch variance also makes it a bit automated sounding - so subtle changes here can also help.

YMMV.

I agree with KarynO’s comments about the vibrato. It felt a little immediate and excessive at times. That said, some of the other tuning choices are wonderful!
