I find Instrument X’s note-end dragging unintuitive.
Let’s say that I want to change the duration of a note. I’ve selected the note and put the mouse near its end. Here’s what I see:
Given that, I would expect that dragging the mouse to the left would shorten the selected note. But it doesn’t — it lengthens the following (unselected) note. I can understand that we’d like to be able to drag note ends when no notes are selected, but when a note is selected, shouldn’t that be a hint to IX about which note we want to modify? Also, I understand that the purpose of the arrow is to show you which end of a note a drag operation would affect, but this is only unambiguous when that arrow is inside the note it refers to.
