New video – We Were Alive (feat. Liam and HXVOC)

This is my first experiment using Suno Studio to remix a tune. Like what I was able to produce, just not sure how I feel about using Suno to do it. Conflicted for sure.

Here’s the comparison. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts (I much prefer my bass on the original track):

  1. Original release with me on guitar, bass, drum programming with Synth V vocals

  2. Suno Studio remix (uploaded my original, generated a bunch of different generations, downloaded all the stems, then used them to create a new mix)

  3. Original

  1. Suno Studio production

The Suno version has a fatter sound, though it’s also less distinct. Hard to pick out the individual instruments in Suno, it’s all really close to center. I do think Suno made a better choice with the section that starts at 2:30, simplifying it more than your original. That provides a clearer contrast for that part. Interesting experiment! Thanks for sharing it.

Appreciate the thoughtful feedback. And your keen ears.

Very interesting! I would prefer that fatness, but indeed, Suno is more “lumpy”. That makes it hard to decide which version I would give a preference. I’m surprised by the Suno vocals, I like them very much. In your version, they are also a bit in the background, i.m.h.o.

I don’t know anything about Suno except I’ve heard the name. I thought the Suno version worked better. Very convincing tune.

just had a really quick listen - trying to play catch up after my pc went into long term failure a few months ago

What Suno vocal style did you use as it sounds a bit Chad Kroeger. The various drops and builds in the Suno give a bit more light and shade compared to the original version.

Were all doomed!
