New App that Converts xml files to Synth V Project files! Perfect lyrics, repeats, codas, etc!

$800 for what is basically a niche plugin for a $99 dollar program that has a lot of your functionality already built in, and will no doubt be improved greatly and quickly by Dreamtonics? You’re asking big time professional producer prices when your main audience is hobbyists. I realize you want to be compensated for your work, and I wish you all the best in your endeavors…..but its a hard pass for me.

Thanks for the candid feedback — I appreciate it.

Just to clarify one point: the current lifetime license is $299, not $800. That said, I completely understand why this would still be a hard pass for many users.

While a lot of Synth V users are hobbyists, there are also working musicians and contractors on this forum. I’m one of them — I use Synth V part-time on contract work, and the monthly passive income I earn from it would cover the lifetime license on its own. I’ve also done custom projects in the $300–$500 per song range, which is the audience this tool is really aimed at.

SynthScore isn’t meant for everyone, and that’s okay. Feedback like yours is helpful as I continue refining both the feature set and the pricing so it stays fair and sustainable.

Thanks again for sharing your perspective.

A late, second response to this post -, but I wouldn’t want you to have to do Lifetime with FREE updates, I’m happy to pay for an update if i still use the app. It’s the subscription model I try to avoid. This is a $79 US app, any price much higher seems pointless, but you could sell a LOT at that number, IMHO.

I hear you, and I appreciate you saying that.

I’m definitely trying to avoid subscriptions as well. The challenge is that the people who are currently buying it at the existing price tend to be using it weekly or even daily—church music directors in particular—and for them the time savings are substantial enough that the current pricing still feels like a bargain.

That said, feedback like yours is helpful, and I’m actively thinking about how to better serve both occasional users and power users—whether that’s through different tiers, update-based pricing, or other options. I want it to feel fair and sustainable on both sides.

So I’ve been thinking about your feedback — and honestly, while I have been making decent sales at my current price point, I’m curious to test your theory.

So here’s an experiment:

The First 20 subscribers can get a lifetime license for $79 with the code
CHRISTMAS2025SCORE, valid until January 1, 2026. This will be my Christmas gift to the Synth V hobbyist community!

This helps me gauge demand at that price point without turning it into a permanent race-to-the-bottom. Thanks to everyone here for the candid input — it genuinely helps shape where this goes.

Merry Christmas!

Flipper, I wish you all the best in your work, but I thought I would let you know that I am a beta tester for various programs, and in the early days I did beta testing for Dreamtonics itself when the ARA functions were being developed. I am not allowed to disclose what I am testing now, but there is another app which has been in development for over a year which does exactly what your program does, plus more than 100 additional functions that extend the power of Synth V, and from what I understand it will not likely cost what you are charging for just 1% of its ability. This is the problem with software development, because others are always able to write code to do what others have done, and it is a very competitive business.

I think it’s a great idea - but ALSO $220 after - that’s a reasonable price, those that use it regularly - your choirmasters - will go for it if they have any brains at all. Another possibility - transcribe by the score or length, individually for us occasional users. Here’s $5 for my 32-bar tune…

But I think this is a great marketing approach, good luck with it, and your app.

Once people realize these apps together make money…. They’ll jump on it. I have made demos of people’s choral scores, more more than 80-100 measures for $350 each. And with this app… In no time at all.

Can’t wait to see it! Congrats!

I have no idea when it will be marketed, and it is not my prerogative anyway. But I do know that it can do a lot more than base44 could ever dream of doing, and most professionals are weary of base44 projects because it is so limited that its potential for growth into other areas is often impossible, and even fixing bugs or improvements in updates is difficult. For your simple procedure, modifying an XML for better SynthV integration, it is fine, but not for more sophisticated apps.

Fascinating.

I don’t doubt that more comprehensive tools are coming; that’s the nature of software. My focus right now is delivering a very specific solution that people are already paying for because it saves them real time and generates real income today. For many users, it’s not about having 100 features — it’s about one workflow working flawlessly and paying for itself quickly.

If broader platforms arrive later, that’s great for the ecosystem. In the meantime, I’m building something people are actively using, relying on, and finding sustainable value in.

Hi @flippercollins , I tried a musicXML with Chinese lyrics, but all the lyrics seem not converted. Only “sil” on every notes. Would you check if this can be solved soon? Then it could be truly helpful for more people. Thanks!
