I’ve been trying to test out the trial of the editor so I can decide if it’s worth paying extra to upgrade, but… I can’t access the Settings or Product Manager at all. The Settings menu says it can’t find the webpage it’s linked to (…why is the Settings menu a webpage, of all things? Why can’t it just be a part of the editor itself?) – which seems to be a server-side error rather than a user-side error (though I could be mistaken), and the Product Manager keeps saying it has a “Script Error” and failing to show anything.
I haven’t been able to use the editor at all, and the days of my free trial just keep ticking away, with me unable to even demo a single feature or voice despite having started a trial for a voice by mistake (which is almost over despite not being able to take advantage of it), which I cannot even load into the program because neither the Settings nor Product Manager work in any way, shape, or form. I’d really like to give the program a try, but these errors are making that impossible.
Does anyone have any insight into why this is happening? Is there anything I can do on my end to ameliorate this, or anything Dreamtonics is doing to fix the connectivity issues on their end if it really is a server-side issue? And is anyone else having the same or a similar issue?
I didn’t do the trial, I just updated. No problems so far.
Well this has hit me too. No problems at all with 2.0.3 and 2.0.4 on a basic M1 MacBook Pro (13” ie the first M1 model) but my M1 Ultra Studio with 128Gb RAM just shows the white unresponsive screen.
Interesting (though also unfortunate, it’s a frustrating bug). I’ve been trying to run it on a Windows 10 laptop, so that means it’s happening to certain users on both Windows and Mac, which is good to know.
Out of curiosity, is it happening with the trial of the software or the licensed version?
@glaceRaven Full version in my case.
Because older systems lack Webview2, installing this can solve the problem:
This is really good to know. Unfortunately, when I went to install Webview2 Runtime on my PC, it said it was already installed (even though I remember I might have removed it in the past, which could be the source of my problems), so I’m not really sure what to do with that.
Did you resolve it? It worked perfectly until yesterday and this morning I started seeing this error too and tried installing Webview2 Runtime on my PC (Windoes 11) and it also says that it’s already installed. Reinstall didn’t work. I e-mailed Dreamtonics about it and am waiting for their reply for now.
update someone informed me to follow the Webview re-install instructions here (the comment from January 26, 2024, to be more specific) Redirecting and the issue is resolved now!
