I am currently experimenting with creating a set of voice profiles in Vocoflex, based on vocal recordings I have made over time (no copyright issues here). I have found that no matter how intense, or soft, my imported vocals sound the all end up sounding nice and … polited :). The different points on the profile curve will give me different vocal timbres but I havent not been able to create anything really emotionally intense yet. Any ideas you may be willing to share will be greatly appreciated?
In semi-desperation I found a couple of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple tracks (that really shows my age haha :)), with really intense and emotional lead vocals (e.g. LZ: Black Dog and DP: Mistreated). Of course I will never use these for any music I create but I was surprised that none of the profiles gave me anything resembling the intensity of the original recordings, even when the vocal performance I processed was intense.
