I tried this, but it really messed with the file associations and registry settings in Windows 11, so it’s a no go for me.
Froggo I can’t make out the detail in that image. What folder are you referring to? In my case I simply right clicked the “Studio Pro” Icon in my taskbar, Right Clicked “Studio pro”, clicked “Properties”, then “Open File Location” from the “Shortcut” tab, then Right Clicked the “Studio Pro.exe” application, and chose “rename” and edited it to “Studio One.exe” . Easy, no other changes, the icon, etc remains the same. Everything else seems to work exactly the same. Again Caveat Emptor, but from my vantage point I am still able to load everything, save everything, install new plugins, etc etc with no difference. The icon still shows up with the Fender logo and says “Studio Pro”. I left all folders exactly as they were when I first installed FSP8. Hope this helps. I am on Windows 11 25H2 current rev.
Thankyou for your reply. That’s exactly what I do too. Time for me to give up, gives me too many issues, and will be fixed officially I hope soon.
Me too. Honestly I’ve only been working on a single project from S17 using Synth V, that I opened in FSP 8.01so maybe I just haven’t seen any abnormalities yet as a result. Thanks for posting. I’ll keep an eye out for trouble. Hopefully a fix comes soon. (Honestly my motivation for wanting to move the synth v projects into FSP was that I got used to some of the new workflow changes already. Having to remember to double-click instead of single click was a pain after acclimatizing to FSP.)
I reached out again saying that just by renaming the app to Studio One 8 the ARA worked, so that would mean an easy fix for developers, and got a bot response telling me that in the meantime use Studio One 7. (?)
To verify it I responded saying that again (with a screenshot)… and got the same bot reply. This is not real support.
I think you are going to see the same thing (support wise) with a lot of companies doing this moving forward.
I will tell you what confuses me. They just offered a one hour video session between the developers and anyone with a high end processor that is seeing a slow down rendering in Choir mode, yet a simple fix do to the host name changing has killed ALL Fender Studio Pro ARA customers. Why have we not seen an immediate patch for a large portion of customer?
Yes, I believed they kind of pushed using Studio One at one point on the prior versions because of the ARA functionality of S1 (now FSP). I don’t know how large a customer base it is for it but I would think there quite a few out there.
As well, one of my issues now is the delay in editing, I get a spinning wheel quite often when making even just small changes when using it in FSP (S1). Kind of annoying.
Is the delay with the ARA bridge or VST3?
Using it in ARA mode in FSP. I make a small edit and it is just taking so long to make the changes sometimes. Not a big deal for me right now. If it gets fixed in a future update, that’s cool. I really don’t care one way or the other though.
ARA does not work in FSP.
Yes, I realize that. But it does with the executable file renaming correct? I did that, but I renamed it back, just waiting on a fix from Dreamtonics. Are we talking about the same thing here?
Ah got it.
Yes this means the ARA code was looking for Studio One.
Easy enough to change it to Studio Pro.
That is why I wonder what the hang up is.
Yes, it’s a weird sort of conundrum. You can still legally use Studio One but the problem there is that and projects saved in FSP cannot be opened in S1 anymore I believe. So yes, Dreamtonics changing something somewhere in their code would resolve it for everyone using FSP. And for anyone still on S1 (which I am sure there are still a lot of users who never upgraded), you would think they could leave the S1 reference there as well. But alas, I’m not a programmer so I don’t have a clue about that LOL.
I’m glad they fixed the ARA Fender Studio Pro problem before the choir sale was over.
Is there currently no way to do a vertical zoom on the piano roll?
I just purchased Synth V 2 Pro and I read through this thread. As for the ARA mode I am not familiar other than what I am seeing in Dreamtonics manual. It appears that this is not working. So should I assume other the fix that requires you to change the name of exe file, Dreamtonics has not made a fix?
