When duplicating a track the two tracks are linked. When making a change to one track it makes the same change to the other track. Is there a way to un-link the tracks?
I think you mave have the notes on track #1 in a note group? If so then you’ll need to disband the group on the copied track so it acts independently from the original note group.

I hadn’t grouped them but this was the answer. When extracting audio to a track it looks like it automatically groups all the notes. I disbanded the group and that worked, thanks!
