Hi, All! I have the classical English choir. The accent is clearly, obviously not recorded by native English speakers. My one, simple recording has a very weird accent. I can’t really use Dreamtonics until they record a classical choir that really sounds like bona-fide English - proper accent. Does anyone else have the same problem???
There isn’t a classical English choir. Choir 1 (pop) was recorded in English, Choir 2 (classical) was recorded in Mandarin and Choir 3 (folk) was recorded in Japanese.
Even though Choir 1 was recorded in English, I would not expect it to be sung by natively English singers. That said, I find it to be great, with no real noticeable accent. When I trialed two of the three choirs on release (I think I trialed #3 and #1), only Choir 1 was acceptable to me in terms of accent.
None of the choirs have a ton of vocal modes, and can be a little bit limiting, but take a trial Choir 1, even though its labeled for pop, R&B, gospel. I think that while it wouldn’t cut it for some classical uses, it may well be good enough for others.
If your recording has a “very weird accent”, you might have to check whether the language is correctly set.
Thank you so much for your reply!! I will try that.
Hi, Dannyu, Thanks so much for your reply!! I will try what you suggest. I didn’t even know this was a possibility. I’ve had trouble learning how to use Dreamtonics. I need to dig in and learn it. Bye for now!! ML
Minor nitpick, but why do you call the software Dreamtonics? That’s the company’s name, and the software is named Synthesizer V.
You’re quite right. I will call it its proper name: “Synthesizer V”. Thanks for the correction!!
I trialed choirs 1 and 3 and it was clear they were not native English speakers. There was a subtle but clear asian accent which was enough to put me off. I create lots of a cappella choir learning tracks for a living and this would have been an amazing addition to my voice library but I had to let it go. I live in hope they will record a true native English choir one day, with a decent Bass range. That and the re-introduction of manual mode!
