I’m sure I’m going something obviously dumb. I’m a longish user of Synth V, so I know my way around Dreamtonics voices. I just purchased Vocoflex, and it won’t output sound. Can you help me figure out what I’m doing wrong?
Some specifics:
- I did authorize my Vocoflex license and upload my verification info. It says I’m confirmed.
- I uploaded a .wav file of me singing into Vocoflex, and it’s visually there.
- In Studio One, I put down an audio .wav track, and then plugged Vocoflex into that track. No sound at all. But when I turn the Vocoflex VST off in the mixer, the audio comes on.
- Same story on an instrument track: I put Synth V on a track, and did an 8-bar melody with Liam, plugged Vocoflex onto that track, and I get no sound with Vocoflex on. If I turn the off the plugin, the sound is fine.
- I get no sound at all from the standalone.
- Back in my DAW, I’ve tried plugging in Vocoflex as an insert, and as a send to an FX bus. No sound either way.
I’m completely perplexed. It seems that no sound is passing through Vocoflex to my audio - as long as the plugin is turned on, it won’t pass through audio or midi signals. I’m imagining I’m missing something glaringly obvious. Anyone else using it in Studio One who can give me a walk through?
SOLVED (THANKS TO FOLKS ON A DIFFERENT POST): It seems that on Mac configurations, Dreamtonics installs the library file in the wrong place. It places them in Mac Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/ etc etc. But it’s supposed to be the path below:
Mac HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Application\ Support/Dreamtonics/Vocoflex`”
So go into the path that Dreamtonics mistakenly placed the folder called Vocoflex, and copy or move the folder and its contents into the correct path. Restart your computer, and Vocoflex will work fine.
Also, another tipoff: If Vocoflex is asking you for your registration number every time you try to log in, that means the library folder is installed in the wrong place.
