I have poem finished. Is there a way to paste the whole thing into a new, empty song and have notes be generated automatically, all at a chosen pitch? I’m doing manually and it’s very time consuming. Is there a quicker way?
I’m really not bothered about the pitch, the melody will come later. Just need to get the words to fit a note pattern to adjust timing.
Is there a better way?
All responses much appreciated, thankyou

What about to record yourself making the vocal track and then audio to midi it? Would be the almost the easiest way I guess.

fwiw - i only use the standalone app to generate the vocals and then import the WAV rendered files into my DAW. so ymmv
one way is to count the words (or i tend to split on syllables with “+” as needed) - let’s say you have 50 words & syllables, so you need 50 (or so) notes.
i’ll make a long single note - say 10 measures long then using the split script, split it, the select all splits and split it again, select, split etc until i’ve split the 10 measure note into 60 notes (they’re all now a single duration and pitch)
select all those notes.
then copy my 50 words & syllables and do a control L (opens bulk lyric import) and paste, then OK.
it probably takes me about 20 seconds to do this, and possibly longer to read this and digest it.
obviously many more notes will require more effort but i often do a small group (a verse or a chorus) at a time and begin the timing work once i’ve got them roughly positioned on the timeline.
Very interesting, I’ll give that a go…
Thanks for the reply. Agree that is the way I would rather work, if I could talk/sing, which sadly I can’t
