Various Issues @ SV2

Making this post as a hobbyist, power user, and fan of character voicebanks.
Post will be updated if there’s something new or as needed. I’m using the SV2 Pro trial.

Bugs

  • SV2 trial telling me to log in every 3~ minutes, then not responding when logged in from browser
  • SV1 banks don’t load until an SV2 bank is loaded on that track
  • Tension parameter max value is very loud and clips - lower max settable value
  • Korean XLS is strange

Possible Bugs

  • Double click on various numerical parameters doesn’t always reset to default

Other (UX problems)

  • Rendering engine advertised as 3 times faster - is often slower than SV1
  • UI feels a bit cramped, merging menu bar + playback controls would take less space
  • Parts are now required, making it impossible to set track-wide parameters and vocal modes
  • Can’t reload render engine manually, making it very inconvenient when it freezes.
  • Pitch drawing on notes is separate from the pitch deviation parameter. If it has to be like this, please add an option to toggle it to that parameter

Personal Issues (Things I don’t expect to be changed, but are also inconvenient)

  • No actual standard bank support - standard banks are converted to SV1 AI banks (but not usable in SV1?)
  • Compared to SV1, no offline support unless you have pro, despite everything being rendered client-side, even with non-trial voicebanks. Why?
  • No manual mode and manual mode pitch + vibrato features, despite being visually present when no bank is selected. Annoying to not have for certain use cases
  • Product Manager is an embedded webpage instead of actually integrated in the normal UI
  • Still no Find action, most vocal synth editors have this by now

I agree, there are definitely some issues across the board that need sorted, but the performance problems you outlined are not universal, and are dependent on the Operating System and CPU. (My Windows 11 and Cubase 14 Pro setup is rock solid, but that is obviously not the case with every user)

If we are to start trying to help Dreamtonics root out the system issues we perhaps need to start threads separating problems relating to Windows Vs Mac, and perhaps by DAW.

All the various posts on here need to be aggregated a bit better to stand a chance of getting to the bottom of it, no?

It makes it difficult when they have no tags to use. I’m personally on Windows 10 64x, using the standalone editor, but I’ve included things I’ve seen my friends and others have issues with and verified on my end.
