NYL II still not downloading and installing BTW …
Found it … but available on a note by note basis. No global setting as per V1.
A bit of a pain,. but at least it is still there!
There is a global vibrato modulation on the note panel. But in V2 the vibrato is replaced by the “Expression” control (vibrant, rigid…). Not a detailled start, left, duration etc.
Gotcha - I had assumed that because it was on the note panel rather than the voice panel it would have been per note, but it does in fact have a global effect.
Every day is a schoolday …
And what about the Groups panel - looks like that has moved or been replaced also?
Deleted! I don’t know why, but they decided it was unnecessary.
And the online documentation is still on the V1 panel…
So if the global vibrato control has been replaced with “expression”, won’t that affect more than just vibrato? I don’t understand why this useful, designated control on global vibrato has been deleted. Am I not understanding expression? V1 had sliders for expression separate from vibrato. As for me, I prefer a way to ONLY control vibrato amounts globally.
If you lasso a range of notes you can drop the (OTT) vibrato down to a suitable level using the note panel, but obviously not as convenient as V1, with the user needing to remember to change any notes added in afterwards.
Between that and dropping the Groups panel, it seems like a bit of a retrograde step.
I hope they keep the online documentation for V1 intact.
The best news of the day is that V2 doesn’t overwrite V1.
If we were presented only with V2 then I’d be chasing a refund …
My question is how to slow the vibrato DOWN. Saros has vibrato that’s too fast for my taste, sort of goat like. In V1, you could slow it down with the Freq slider. I see no way to slow down vibrato, sort of literally drawing it in slower by hand for each note. The vibrato modulation controls how much vibrato - not how fast or slow it is. The Manual Mode Vibrato section was perfect. Vibrato speed is a pretty big deal so I hope that I’m just missing something. Otherwise I’d say this is something that needs to be added back in.
manassas77 ---- you say there IS a Vibrato Modulation control? It’s nothing like V1…where you could specify the DELAY before vibrato starts, AND the percentage of modulation. Or, did you find some controls I haven’t located yet?
Also in MANUAL MODE…I used to be able to specify how quickly the singer switched from one note to another…GLOBALLY. The default behavior of many of the “singers” is a lot of REALLY SLOW transitions, and it sounds HORRIBLE when doing acapella quartet work.
OR........again........are these old settings buried somewhere that I just havn't found yet?
budgetkeyboardist -------
I do a lot of work with acapella Barbershop Quartet arrangements. Being able to specify how long of a delay before vibrato starts…and the percentage of modulation, AND the FREQUENCY of the modulation …all these features on the old Manual Mode VIBRATO section are CRITICAL for me.
Frankly, I find V2 to be UNUSEABLE as it currently is.
jfa ---- SO, IS there a way to specify the START, left, duration, etc. in V2 or not?
If there isn't, V2 is UNUSEABLE to me.
I haven’t spent enough time on V2 - once I realised how poor the implementation is, how poor the new voices are, I’ve just gone back to V1 until they fix the myriad of problems.
As for vibrato control, I was referring to the note edit facility, and it worked that a Ctrl+A picked up all the notes then you can change the vibrato for all those notes.
As I say, I haven’t gone back to using V2 for a few days now.
