I think Popy works beautifully in this, she has the voice of a real femme fatale.
One question though… at 1:08 (bar 37) I see the lyric “ashame” split across 4 notes, “ashame”, “+”, “-”, “-” so half the word doesn’t get phonemes — but I hear the full word so it must be chorus vocals hiding the error?
I think the result is really good though, and her accent adds to the charm.
Ashame, two syllables, roughly “a” and “shame”
Four notes, “ashame” followed by +, -, -, breaks down like this:
- Note 1 annotated as “ashame” but it only gets the first syllable, the “ah” sound
- Note 2 “+” means "next syllable of the word so “shame” but…
- Note 3 “-” and…
- Note 4 “-” where a “-” means stretch out the previous syllable
So note 2, 3, and 4 are the “shame” stretched out over three notes
You could instead do “ashame,-,+,-” instead and it would mean “ah” over two notes followed by “shame” over two notes.
