I just upgraded to a Win 11 PC and need to transfer SynV to the new box. I assume i need to deauthorize the old version and should have no problem authorizing in the NEW machine.
ANYBODY ALREADY DONE THIS, please? Issues to be aware of?
Thanks.
I’m not aware of needing to do anything unless you are using SV2 and the “offline” license.
If this is a new ‘box’ then some have reported that SV2 will offer to deactivate the license on the old machine when you log into the new one.
If it’s the same machine, just an updated operating system, then there shouldn’t be any issue.
This is my understanding, I haven’t had to do either as of yet.
I recently did the same, without issue. I took off all the voices, and then SynthV Studio on Win11.
I haven’t done it with the v2, though.
Obviously, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got all your license keys.
Well, it did NOT work. Probably at least partly my fault… I’m actually not sure exactly WHAT I did first pass (I had three other installs trying to compete for attention.) But eventually I used the Offline switch to let me reopen SynV2 on the original install and UNINSTALL the voices (so they would be free for the new box.) Then I took it off line and now neither machine tells me I’m authorized.(I used to know what I was doing, even got paid for it - but that was Windows 7…
So you unregistered the voices on the old install - then unregistered SynthV?
I can imagine three simultaneous installs causing problems, licence keys are likely to get suspended if you are seen as “abusing” them - even if not your intention. ensure the old install is fully unregistered before proceeding.
