Just installed the new version 2.0.7. Now the program won’t start at all. Going back to version 2.0.6 until this is sorted out. A massive thumbs down from me. Sorry.
It starts for me, but it takes about 30 seconds.
You don’t say what OS and DAW you are using - That seems to have a big bearing on how SV performs.
Windows 11. I use the standalone version as I find it easier to work with than using it within FL Studio.
I noticed the same thing in standalone version 2.0.7 on Windows 11. After clicking, nothing happens… the process is visible in Task Manager and the application starts only after quite a long time. Version 2.0.6 works ok.
Try running the program as an Administrator (find program right-click and choose ‘run as Administrator’) - maybe it needs to write something to disk but cannot. If this works - try running as normal after that…
Version 2.0.7 Standalone opens late for me too. But the VST plugin opens normally. ARA Plugin opens very fast. Looking forward to 2.0.8.
Yep. I’m also running Windows 11, and as reported two days ago already, V2.07 (the standalone version only) almost takes 40 seconds to load completely. This is not normal, I guess.
Good news:
Even though V2.07 is still the current SV2 version, the standalone application now launches as fast again as this was already the case for V2.06.
Personally, I didn’t alter any of my general windows 11 (or its related firewall) settings. This can only mean that Dreamtonics have changed something on their side (e.g. the online authentication process or whatsoever) to make SV2 work again in an acceptable way.
Can anybody else also confirm that?
I do not confirm… I have just checked and version 2.0.7 has a problem with starting.
Everyone encountering this problem, please notify Dreamtonics by sending them a “support ticket”.
I have just found the same strange speed-up, stand-alone Synthv2.0.7 (offline licence or online - makes zero difference) starting in around 15 seconds - identical to my current Synthv1.11.2. I never timed it before but 2.0.7 used to take about 60 seconds!
I have recently installed a few Windoze reccommended patches but why would that affect anything?
Odd.
Thanks for your feedback. Indeed, I also updated my OS during the last few days again by installing recent 24H2 patches. So, it seems that was just a temporary issue caused by MS.
Maybe there is a “phone home” routine in the software to check for updates (or something else) and they sped it up on their end?
But I always run SynthV off-line so I can’t see such a check-back being the culprit?
