Synth V 2 Plugin Not Following Project Tempo [solved]

I have exported 3 midi tracks from a Cubase 13 project which were synth-instruments playing vocals. After creating an SV2 track (in the same project) I opened the plugin, imported the midi file and assigned voices to each track in the plugin window. On starting play via the DAW all is well - until the project tempo changes (from 66bpm to 160bpm) at which point the SV2 tracks [seem to] carry on playing at 66. They are drawn correctly, and the playhead is syncronised with the DAW but the vocals gradually get further behind as playback continues due to the slower speed.

I’m guessing that the audio rendering is not reading the project tempo but before I raise a ticket can anyone else confirm that this is an issue?

You can either input your tempo changes in manually in SV, or you can use ARA bridge mode where you add the ARA2 extension to an audio file in Cubase. The process is a little convoluted, but works in version 2 the same way as it does in version 1. Go to this page - 02 ARA Bridge Mode Setup | Synthesizer V Studio User Manual and scroll down to Set up the ARA bridge mode, then click on the Cubase tab.

Note - you attach the ARA extension to the audio track, not the Synth-V track. ARA extensions are added to a track using the Inspector in Cubase.

If you don’t see the tempo and time signature in Synth-V 2, there’s a little icon to the right of ARRANGEMENT (top left of screen). Click the icon, and your time sig and tempo should appear.

Thank you for this. It’s weird - yesterday the ARA bridge didn’t appear in the plugin window - but today it does (after removing the extension and re-adding it) and SV2 is now synced tempo-wise. Not sure what I did wrong - but glad it’s now working.

Fr what its worth - I’ve noticed somethimes the bridge icon doesn’t light up … move the audio clip you have on the ARA track by a couple of bars and it comes to life!

Screwy, but it does at least work.
