So I’m using midi/wav to get the melody… but when I try changing the tone (shifting the piano roll notes up or down), it doesn’t change the way the notes sound. This worked fine in Studio V1, but it doesn’t seem to be working on V2.
Yep, voice is applied, as I can hear the singing just fine. You know, I think I figured it out. I’m using Claire’s hotkey scripts for moving notes up and down, and that seems to move the notes visually, but not in tone fully. I hear a little difference, but not the way it should really sound (because i’m moving it up more than an octave just to test). But… if I click and drag the note with the mouse and not use the hotkey, it sounds as it should. Also if I use the menu Modify → shift up/down by an octave, it works as should too.
So I guess there is something else that the hotkey script is changing in studio v2.
Thanks for your help, I guess I’ll just manually move in and not use the hotkeys
Ok this is so frustrating… I think it also has to do with this new group junk too, because I move one note and it affects a totally separate note? If I try “split the parent group” it seems to fix (at least the note that was being affected), but I noticed if I change the tone of one note again, the squiggly lines don’t change, so even where a note goes down, the tone is going up.
Is there a way to totally get rid of groups? I’m seriously thinking about going back to V1.
The “every note forced into a group” thing really destroys me in V2. I never used groups even once in V1 and was happy. I’m having all sorts of problems being forced to use groups.
I’ve never used the wav to midi function and tend to just test with my own stupid little ditties…
However, after reading your predicament I suspect that wav to midi is using pitch curves in which case you can move the notes as much as you like and it won’t change a thing. [The notes are there as a visual guide perhaps ???]
Look to the bottom of the Piano-roll window and open the pitch parameter you may need to select not just notes but notes and parameters before editing to get the changes you seek?
Like I said I’ve ‘never done this’ so feel free to ignore me.
Here’s an article on the website that may hold some interesting info to consider…
