Yes, I hope most (if not all) V1 voicebanks will be available for free in a V2 compatible version. V2 compatible version does not mean a full V2 version (with mouth opening parameter, intelligent pitch controls, timing retakes, etc.) and needs upgrade prices.

I know why you said it and due to the fact that meaning can be lost in translation - you are probably right!
They talk of ‘compatible’ and ‘native’… The word ‘free’ is only associated with ‘compatible’ so they misunderstood my original communication and I their reply!
Good to know that Gumi will have a ‘native’ V2 version one day. I’m not into the ‘cute’, little girl sound - I know it’s a Japanese cultural thing, which I really don’t understand. I always dial in a more mature sound …
