"Pale Blue Dot" - the epic/progressive metal journey of the Voyager I into space (feat. HXVOC)

Working with HXVOC was so much fun!!! I explored the aggressive/scream/rap modes and i have to say this voice is beyond any expectations.

This is still a work in progress, any advice will be helpful!

Carl Sagan lives on!

no advice, only two thoughts at first hearing:

  • How about some passages with double tempo of kick/snare?
  • I’d like a little bit more flexibility in the melody, some embellishments or rhythmic flexibility, for me the 3 3 2 phrasing is sometimes too predominant or strict
A good song  And impressive treatment of Hxvoc s voice.

Appreciate this commenti!!!

Thanks. I’m not sure if you know, but many folks at NASA were opposed to Sagan’s request to rotate Voyager 1 so that it could take a photo of Earth from such a far distance (~6 billion kilometers). They argued it had no scientific value given that Earth from that distance would only fill a single pixel (aka the pale blue dot). I’m a scientist myself, but am also inspired by our magnificent planet; even from billions of miles away. I’m glad they decided to take the photo. Cheers…

completely agree with you! I’m a scientist too (material science, experimental…)
i feel that carl sagan’s speech and the “pale blue dot” image are one of the most inspiring and awesome pictures of ourself as a race. really inspiring

Cool! I worked in the semiconductor industry for about a decade with many material scientists.

Speaking of Carl Sagan, did you ever see the movie Contact?

Intriguing mix of instruments… very cool! I agree with the comment about the singing timing. A more loosely-timed melody that more closely matched the natural flow of the spoken words would be more listenable, IMHO.

I’m actually a researcher in a research institute in italy, working on the material synthesis with various techniques. :stuck_out_tongue:
yes, i saw contact many years ago, i remember it was a great movie but i should rewatch it!

Nice track, the guitar solo is well recorded and the screamed parts very convincing. Hxvoc is definitly a great choice for this kind of music.

I have finally published the song on bandcamp!
