MCP Server for Synthesizer V Studio

Let me announce mcp-svstudio, which allows AI products (e.g. Claude Desktop) to operate Synthesizer V through chat interface.

You can check the demo video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMz_mfS3aic

Please feel free to try it out and give your feedbacks if any.

I tried it (on Windows) and it works (limited to a free Claude account…).
I wonder if there is a difference between using AI like this and that of others (Suno AI…). Creativity lies more in the use of tools than in the creation of music.
But using tools to facilitate composition could be beneficial for certain workflows.

Thank you for trying.

What I found so far is, current major LLMs (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, …) are very poor at creating music while they are good at text-based tasks like programming.

Interestingly, they even can’t complete very basic musical tasks (e.g. “describe The Star-Spangled Banner in ABC notation”) correctly. They don’t seem to have basic musical theory knowledges.

So, currently, there seem to be large differences with music-specialized AIs like Suno between musical-creation-through-text by LLMs.

Yes, my goal was more oriented towards (human) creativity.

Nowadays, more and more people can create music as easily as a conversation on a smartphone. They upload music very quickly, without any musical skills. Some DJs make a lot of money and release famous tracks without any instruments. This is a fact, not a regression, but an evolution due to technology. And the question is: What’s about creativity? The tools create for you, ask: “Robot! (terminator) baking me a beautiful musical cake.” Then I created my own music with my own robot! But at what point it is your own creativity? Where is the line between tools that can help workflow and creating your own melodies?
