I have copied a whole voice part (a voice group) from one track to another track within SV2. The aim is to create a backing track with a different melody and a totally different kind of voice, even though the same lyrics are shared.
Now, as I have heavily edited the original track before in order to include mouth openings which were exactly tailored to the assigned voice, these changes won’t fit at all to the backing voice on the second track. While there are multiple options available in the piano roll to reset any phoneme/timing/detuning/pitch edits etc., I don’t find any general option in the area below to completely remove all manually edited mouth opening curves. In fact, I’d also have expected to find a global option there to “reset” all manual changes in order to let the curve snap back to “zero”. Did I miss something here, or do I really have to edit each single curve point manually?
Maybe someone has a good idea on how to achieve that goal quickely and efficiently. Thanks.
Is there really not solution to undo any manual mouth opening changes by using one single user command? What about scripting? Would this be feasible at all, and if not, why? What do all the GOATs (Greatest Of All Times) amongst you think about that?
When viewing the Mouth Opening parameters within a group choose the Line Drawing Tool (looks like a rising line with two dots at the start and end), click in an empty space in the grid (of the Mouth Opening area) press CTRL+A to select all points and press DEL to delete everything selected.
Not sure why my last question has been “flagged by the community” just because I have asked the gurus amongst you if writing a related script would be a feasible option. I’m not getting the policy behind that. After all, I guess I have already contributed to the communitry by sending dumps to the developers in order to make improvements for the forthcoming 2.1.0 release and I have even praised the excellent support here in this forum. I also got positive feedback already by helping others, and then I get suddenly a penalty for asking a simple question…
However, thanks to you, @Bobox for replying to me and presenting a possible solution. I didn’t find anything like that in the available manual, but now I know.
Edit:
I can only imagine what someone of you might have misunderstood in my related post that was flagged:
GOAT | English meaning:
Greatest Of All Time ( Cambridge Dictionary)
So, it’s not offensive; it’s quite the opposite: it’s an award to you, guys!
On the point of your message being flagged, your sentence had the word goat in lower case, from what I recall, and it was after a frustrated rant that no-one had replied. Looked like you were being rude, we are not developers just a community of users primarily and there are some very helpful members who may not have seen your post within the two days from first post to second.
If you’re going to use an acronym, may I suggest you make sure it is in capitals and perhaps add the meaning after in brackets, ie GOAT (Greatest of all time) afterward so there’s no confusion and no offence to be taken.
I’m sure the forum moderators will come back with a decision in due course.
@Bobox: Yes thanks, for sure your intel was very helpful. I appreciate it.
I can assure that there was no intention from my side to be rude or whatsoever. I will consider next time to write acronyms in capital letters only. Mea culpa, I was not taking care about such details, as I thought the users exactly understand what I was trying to express.
However, in this day and age, everyone immediately feels offended (and I don’t exempt myself from that), and some people claim that also political correctness should be written in capital letters only. But this will also not prevent from misinterpreting things, especially here in these forums, where so many people from different countries and cultures are communicating with each other. There’s obviously no way to avoid misunderstandings.
Nevertheless, I will take more care about the way I’m writing my posts here, after all, English is also not my mother tongue.
