I want to import my vocal track into Synth V but when I do, it makes so many mistakes in interpreting my words that it takes a loooong time to manually correct them all.
Is there any way to import a text file containing my exact lyrics along with the vocal track and have Synth V refer to that text while it is converting the vocal track to midi?
There might be some scripts in the community to be able to do this (import text), I’m not sure. Hopefully the new version will have better detection or possibly even have an import function of sorts.
A little more info…I am trying to find the most effective way to work with Synth V to get my lyrics in there and converted to MIDI. And, of course, the new version coming in 10 days will prolly change a bunch of stuff!
So far I have been doing this,
export separate vocal track and music track
bring both of those tracks into Synth V
rt-click my vocal track and choose Extract Notes from Audio
mute my vocal track
set Note Detection Sensitivity to 80%
check Round pitch
check Phonetic lyrics
check Transfer pitch
And that does a decent job but the words are usually not very accurate throughout the song, requiring LOTS of manual corrections! So I changed my workflow to this,
export my vocal track and my music track separately
bring both of those tracks into Synth V
rt-click my vocal track and choose Extract Notes from Audio
mute my vocal track
set Note Detection Sensitivity to 80% (dunno yet if this is the best choice)
UNcheck Round pitch (dunno yet if this is the best choice)
UNcheck Phonetic lyrics (this is the MAGIC!)
UNcheck Transfer pitch (dunno yet if this is the best choice)
Now, Synth V will bring in the notes to my vocal track but NOT the words (which it often gets wrong anyway as mentioned above!) My next step is still being fine-tuned but basically it is like this,
copy all the lyrics from a text file
click the note that should have the first word
from the main menu select Modify / Insert Lyrics
paste lyrics into the box and click OK
start the song and see how well the lyrics match the notes
when I hit a note with a word that occurs too soon I select the note and all the notes to the right of it
from the main menu I select Modify / Shift Lyrics to the Right
continue through the entire song
It seems like a potentially long process but I still think it is better because this way my lyrics are perfect (unless it mispronounces them which it sometimes does) and all I have to do is shift words and fix the occasional wrong note.
There is another option that I did not need yet called Modify / Shift Lyrics to the Left.
One last thought…I have not yet figured out how to get the best vocal for this process. I think I read somewhere that I should use raw vocals but I got better results using vocals that had f/x applied with a bit of pitch correction.
Any thoughts on how to improve this process would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
You can try to:
1/ Copy all your original lyrics on a text file
2/ Select all notes imported by audio detection
3/ Select Modify / Insert Lyrics and copy all lyrics below your original lyrics inside your text file
4/ In your text file try to match your lyrics and the detected lyrics to synchronize notes:
Orignal text: I am the best singer in the word
Detected text: aie my ve beast apes in the universe! lol
Add some ++ or - to synchro each note/lyrics
5/ Back to Synthv: Select all notes imported by audio detection
6/ Select Modify / Insert Lyrics for all notes and paste your new modified text synchronized.
It’s just an idea but I’ve never tried it.
