- Awkward interface when recording notes into SV2 using a midi keyboard, (Logic Pro 10.5.1, SV2 version 2.0.6, Mojave). Delay on note entry with keyboard, and cannot audition notes initially until the app is placed in record. Quirky input when used in Daw ARA Bridge mode. Cannot resize windows. Trial ended for both the app and voice trials before a working trial of the app was released. Also, cannot audition voice when a note is clicked, can only hear on playback. In Vocaloid, we could hear the actual voice when notes were clicked.
Synth V is not Vocaloid and works differently. I have Vocaloid 6 and love it, I also have Synth V and love it. Different programmers have different approaches, once you get into their way of thinking you’ll love it too…
I used to find recording midi to SV2 up to v 2.0.5 was terrible and resulted in notes of half value mistimed all over the place (Using Cubase 14 Pro / Nuendo 14), but with v 2.0.6 although it still sounds terrible at least the notes are where I expect them to be.
Also with Vocaloid clicking on a note did give you audio feedback, but if you’d moved the phonemes around this was not represented only a standard rendering - but it helps. I would like to see this implemented in SV2 too, but can live without it for now!
I can resize the bridge window no problems - so I don’t know what’s going on there with Logic Pro 10.
With regard to the trial period - write to Dreamtonics and ask for an extension - they may grant it???
I can’t get the trial to function as advertised and I’m using a known compatible cpu . I emailed them to let them know the trial ended before I could get the app to work as it should and request a trial extension with working voices. No go. Crazy business model to release a buggy app, update it but it still be buggy to the point of it being unusable, and then the trial ends so those with issues can’t make a rational decision to purchase the app. And what is so bad is I purchased the app but got a refund on the first release as it was so buggy it was unusable! Crazy!
Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience…
I’m struggling with it for now… But there have been some glimpses of ‘betterment’ - for instance Kevin’s soft-toned boyish vocals do sound much more life-like and if I need that kind on thing, I know where to look and what to tweak to get it.
