I’m struggling to get the “tw” sound, as pronunced in the word twist.
Lyric “They twist they crawl”
I’ve experimented a little with the phenomes with no luck, and different voices too. Any ideas?

Not sure if you’re using SV1 or SV2?
I used SV1 to have a go and can see that initially T in “twist” is silent. To get it back on line I dragged the end of word “they” to make it shorter and insert a SIL (Silence). Now I had the problem that “they” was missing the initial heavy TH (dh) sound. So I retyped the word as ‘thay’ this seemed to do the trick. It made SV1 think it was a new word - HEHE!
Also getting “crawl” to sound better required lengthening the L and just to polish off, I made the sound loud on both T of “twist” and K of “crawl”…
It was fiddly, judge for yourself the result…
Thanks. I’m on SV2 and havent a lot of experience with it yet. I’ve used your advice of adding silences, tried a “t t” as the phoneme and have managed to get the “t” sound a bit more prominent. I still think I can get it better with some tweaks, but this has been a good avenue to take and I will try some more. As a raw vocal it’s still far from perfect, but with the backing track nobody but me would probably notice.
I had another go using SV2 Mai 2
The beauty of these kinds of exercise is that it gives you an opportunity to listen carefully to how words are actually pronounced.
The word twist has a short t-w-i landing on a long s and then a short t at the end (This is my British English Received Pronunciation)…
And (in english) : t u iy s t ?
What do you mean of that ?
“t uh iy s t” excuse me !!
I don’t quite understand your point…
In English the letters twi are usually pronounced in quick succession…
Twisssss-t
Twi-t
Twi-g
Twin
Twil
Twi-ch (Twitch)
There’s sometimes a glottal stop (-) between the i and a following consonant also. At least that’s how I hear and say it.
we don’t say
Tweeest
Tweet - though there are words; tweet and tweed
Tweeg - though if you want to emulate a lisp, intrigue would be pronounced intweeg
It’s definitely an annoyance, but not a dealbreaker. The best workaround is to change the lyric to another word
My demo is about to expire and I’ll be buying SV2 for sure. I’ve had a lot of fun with it so far.
Welcome aboard !
Hope you have many more hours of fun…
