There’s an IMSTA FESTA in London on Saturday, 7 June - Dreamtonics is supposed to be exhibiting - maybe an update on French ??? Maybe a chance to quiz them on it’s impending appearance ??? Who knows ???

I’ve been thinking a lot about the possibility of a French voice coming to Synthesizer V, and honestly, I feel like it might be closer than we think. What really caught my attention is that Eclipsed Sounds released phonetic dictionaries for German and Italian—but not for French. And yet, the demand for French is clearly much higher in the community. So my guess is that those dictionaries are just stopgaps for German and Italian users, while a proper native French voice might already be in development, maybe even close to release.
I also have a hunch that the upcoming French voice could be part of the TONE CHROMA series. Given how expressive and artistic that series is, I can totally imagine them introducing a character with a voice inspired by Édith Piaf—strong vibrato, clear diction, emotional delivery. That kind of retro French sound tends to resonate well with American audiences, and since Eclipsed Sounds is US-based, it would make a lot of sense stylistically.
Another thought: maybe there’s a kind of division of labor going on between Dreamtonics and Eclipsed Sounds. Dreamtonics seems to focus on Asian voices (Japanese, Chinese, Korean), while Eclipsed Sounds handles the Western ones (English, Spanish, and possibly French soon). That would be a smart way to specialize and expand the voice library more efficiently.
Anyway, nothing official yet, but I feel like the signs are there. If a French voice drops soon, I won’t be surprised at all.

Dreamtonics (Synthesizer V):
Statut : Tests internes pour le français confirmés (X, @Dreamtonics, 30 août 2025). Vise une intégration dans Synthesizer V 2 pour NAMM 2026 (janvier).
Progrès : Français mentionné comme priorité parmi les nouvelles langues (avec le coréen). Le moteur actuel gère déjà plusieurs langues (anglais, japonais, mandarin, cantonais, coréen, espagnol), ce qui suggère une infrastructure solide pour ajouter le français.
Estimation : Annonce probable à NAMM 2026 (23-25 janvier 2026), avec une bêta ou démo possible dès décembre 2025 (VocaVerse, 31 août 2025). Sortie officielle potentielle au printemps 2026 (mars-avril 2026).

En tout cas, qu’ils se hâte si non le manque du français nous fait trop souffrir. Normalement le français comme l’anglais et les autres serait parmi les premières langues à sortir non ? J’ai été vraiment déjà à voir que ça n’y existait pas.
Maintenant je l’attends avec impatience…..
Guess what! French is here. Still in prototype (pre-beta) phase and has a lot of pronunciation errors though. Some sounds are a bit spotty
