Fun song i wrote in the 80’s. my early attempt at something like a Motown vamp. originally i had done this on a 4-track fostex and thought, maybe this needs to be refreshed - so some horns, backing vox, and better recording…
Kevin on lead vocals, Natalie and Solaria bringing the backup goods.

Cool song. I wish Kevin had a more gutsy voice, but he is who he is. The “break” provides nice highlight moments in the song, and the last minute has a very good jam going… horns, vocals, everything really grooves and fits the genre. Right up until the last 5 seconds. The “break” at the very end just seemed a bit of a let down for some reason.

yeah, when i do it live, we break, in this recorded version i’m fading it out so basically at some point it’s just the drums and ad-libs, diminishing in volume (hinting it could be going on and on and on… lol).
You said “when we do it live…” I sometimes forget that a good portion of the people using SynthV and posting stuff here are working musicians who perform their pieces in real venues. As opposed to those of us who are creating music on our own for our own fulfillment, but whose stuff stuff will get little to no exposure beyond places like this forum.

yeah, all my songs (with very few exceptions) start as live compositions on guitar or piano, and often performed live (either me soloing or with a band). your response has got me asking - why the heck haven’t i been doing more experimental “studio-only” stuff… so thanks for that.
