Dumb noobie piano roll questions

Hi - just trying to get the hang of it all. Not helped as I have a visual impairment but we press on

Is there a way to zoom in and out horizontally, preferably with key commands?
Are there key commands to scroll backwards and forwards through the piano roll?

I’m having great problems getting playback to stop where I want.

There’s a script that has key command to zoom in/out and other useful piano roll key commands. Check out this post w the link to the script.

Interesting, thank you.
I have now found the mouse button scrolling thing so can now get around better

Thank you. At the moment I’m just trying to learn how it woeks. Scripts is a bit above my level

If you have a mouse wheel -
SHIFT/wheel scrolls left and right
CTRL/wheel zooms horizontal
ALT/wheel moves vertically
I think these are included and don’t require a special script.

And BTW, scripts are easy to use and unlock some powerful capabilities.

Thank you. AT least I can now move about sensibly
What do you think are the most useful scripts - particularly for a beginner?

I am new to scripting, but at this site

You’ll find some I use all the time.

Move notes up
Move notes Down

Bill White was kind enough to write a script for me that fixes note overlaps. He explains it here:

It might seem daunting, but copy the .JS or .LUA file into your SYNTHESIZER V STUDIO/SCRIPTS folder. Then in the SETTINGS panel (at the bottom) you can assign the script to whatever key you like.

Hope this is helpful - and maybe too much - but it gives you an idea of what is possible.

Scripts only work with PRO version of SV.

the scripts to move up and down help when you have slight variances in the grid selected - for example you did a bunch of work in 1/16th, now the grid is set to 1/8 for some other work, and if you try to move the 1/16 notes, you may find they now overlap or gap. using the up/down scripts keep them aligned correctly. so definitely those two are my important ones.

OK, thank you, although I haven’t come across that situation yet. There are many nuances I have yet to discover.
