Different articulations per note

Is it possible to make only certain notes soft and airy or, do we have to make separate tracks to achieve this? If that is the case, how do you mute notes?

Yes, use the automation! Here’s one way to make some notes soft and others airy.

bvesco is showing you where it is - at the bottom on the PIANO ROLL window.

If the PIANO ROLL window is not visible at the bottom-left of the main program click the > symbol to pull it up then you’ll see the ae Phoneme Timing appear at the bottom and next to it to the right is a + symbol which you click on to get access to the other grids, once this is open click on the title (say Pitch Deviation) and choose Airy or Soft …
