In general I appreciate the idea that SV2 offers the possibility to display a transparent image on a track’s background, indicating directly which voice is currently associated with it.
Unfortunately, it seems that the related option, namely to switch such an image on or off via the settings menu, only applies to voices purchased from Eclipsed Sounds, but not from Dreamtonics. Not sure why, but it would be awsome if any voice could get its customizable backround image, if required so by the user. For example, each voice’s image data could be stored inside its related database folder in order to get loaded automatically, along with the voice itself when selected, provided that this feature has also been enabled in SV2’s settings menu.
@Dreamtonics: Would it be too much efforts to allow any image file (e.g. PNG) to be dropped into the database folder in order to load that picture along with the related voice? For visual people like me that would be a massive improvement. After all, you immediately see in which track you are currently working and which data are actually edited. For sure this will also help to avoid misunderstandings or even mistakes, especially when dealing with multiple tracks inside a project. That would be a big deal, I guess.
Could you please check if such a feature implementation would be possible?
Thanks again in advance for considering this suggestion.
That is how V1 worked, and with a bit of effort you could create your own images to be displayed.
It appears that V2 does not have the same system - I cannot find the voice data at all yet, despite SynthV2 being ‘activated for offline’. If there is no server in use the voice data (and images) must be somewhere on the HDD.
I agree it would be nice to have access to add images to Dreamtonics voices and alter those that do show (which must also be stored somewhere sneaky).
I’m also working with the offline license activated; but yes, the voice data are always stored locally on the system, that’s for sure. Personally, I’m running a Windows 11 Pro system. In this case the SV2 voice subfolders are located here:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Dreamtonics\Synthesizer V Studio 2\databases
Each of these subfolders contains one of your currently installed SV2 voices, even though there are no voice names visible, just code numbers. I already tried to drop a “wallpaper.png” file into each of these folders just for test purposes, but unfortunately none of my voices displayed the related image as track background in the end. Only the Eclipsed Sounds products did, but also with their own (factory) images only which seem to be “baked” into their product code directly.
However, if not customizable by users, it would have been already nice if Dreamtonics would at least make such “factory” images available for their SV2 voices as well. Otherwise, a very nice feature keeps being unused which is really a pity.
