2 clips on same track behave as clones, not independently editable!?

Hello peeps, see the video here, it shows how when I have two separate clips on the main track, I cannot apply animated parameters to the clips separately… for example, I try to add airiness and softness to the ONE clip, but the same changes are made to the OTHER clip too. They are locked as if they are clones. How do I edit them separately?! This is so frustrating.

You have two options for copying a group:
1/ Copy then paste
2/ Copy then paste as linked groups.
The second option you currently have:
The linked parameters are also linked.
The system internally duplicates a group reference (visible in the track) and points to the same group of notes (stored in the project).
In this case, you can:
1/ Right-click on the duplicated groups and choose “Unlink.”
The groups are now independent.
2/ Delete the duplicated group and copy/paste again (without linking them).

hi, thanks, I have not ever created a group unless this happens automatically (VERY BAD!!!)… and I don’t see any way to ungroup the clips. If I right mouse click on any of the clips, there is no mention of “groups” at all. If a group has been automatically created I do not see a way to find that group to unlink and then delete it… could you please explain where I find the groups? Also, are you sure I have “groups”? Thanks again.

The group is the green region that owned notes (with lyrics).
Your video displays 2 groups with a special icon (linked meanings!):

No, really, very good! With a group, you can duplicate all the notes at once, more easily (linked or not).
If you right-click on a duplicate group, you will discover a submenu:
Mouse-right-click-submenu-unlink-arrow-2025-05-06
So there is a mention of group.

hi, nope, no mention at all, I right mouse click on the clip, on the other clip, on the group icon, select both clips, right mouse click, NO mention of groups…

hi again, as you see here, the one instance (group) is selected, and yet the menu item to unlink group is greyed out!

Your submenu indicate that you are on a track/group with instrumental track (wav/mp3 audio file).
The context menu “Extract notes from audio” indicates this.
This could be a setup issue or other environmental interference. However, it seems your version isn’t responding properly on a vocal track/group.

Hi, thanks but I don’t know what all that means and how to fix it… all I know is that the software is not functioning as it should… Ready frustrating given the lack of support.

Another problem with this software is that when you create a new track on your Daw and add another effect to the blank audio clip and go to synthesizer V, you see in front of you the same tracks as you had on a different Daw track… Your new clip just gets added to the existing Synth V… so in effect you cannot actually have separate instances of synthesizer V running in the same project.
So how would I correct this problem I have?

You can create a ticket to the Dreamtonics support (available on the web site). Also you can unistall and reinstall the software. Try on another computer to check the situation.
