The ARA Bridge mode icon in the upper right disappears with this update. ( 2.0.7) In addition, the performance, which is the MIDI note data, is gone! I have NEVER seen an app behave this way? I give up! The data is SUPPOSED to be saved with the DAW, but after the update to 2.0.7, that data once there went away!!! wth! So now I have no data that I had spent HOURS on. So to recap, after installing the latest update 2.0.7, the ARA Bridge function went away along with the MIDI note performance. When I reboot, it comes back, BUT when I shut down and relaunch, itās gone again⦠Iām DONE!
This sucks to have it happen to you. Iāve been there. Losing this much work is a frustration and a motivation killer. Thereās no excuse for it but computers are computers and after it happened to me I adjusted some of my workflow. One key element for me is I configured my DAW to save a new backup of my project every five minutes of editing activity, and it saves up to a hundred of those. It means I always have backups spanning more than the last six hours of editing changes Iāve made. It has saved me more than once. It might be time to look into adopting similar ways to protect your efforts.
Again, sucks it happened and sorry it happened to you.
Yeah, Iāts just a shock when stuff like this happens. I will do as advisedā¦All came back after a reboot. It seems we are beta testers. I understand that this is new technology/programming, but in all my years of using computers for production, I have never seen a company operate like this⦠hit or miss ā¦I value the work of developers who are doing the stuff I could never do, but when you release a product, it should be tested for all CPUs that are advertised as being compatible ⦠I do have self-contained SV 2 projects, but perhaps Dreamtonics should advise what you suggest until the app is settled inā¦Again, I know many have no issues and my machine is a relic by todayās standard, but upgrading to a modern OS/CPU is not something I can do now without lose of produtivityā¦and I know thatās on me, but my suggestion to Dreamtonics would be disclaimers for us old folks such as myself is that this app MAY not work on older systems even If it is proclaimed as expected
( ironic that they mention that newer systems and OS may require Rossetta)⦠I purchased the app because it was advertised as being compatible with my OS and hardware⦠I feel like Iām stranded in space ⦠OH, and an updated manual for SV2 would be great, even the online tutorials are for the first versionā¦what the hell LOL
You havenāt said which DAW you are using. It seems to have a big bearing on performance. If the dev team are reading this they need to know exactly where issues are cropping up.
Here, Cubase is working fine after the update.
Thanks for inquiry ⦠actually I have on several posts indicated the hardware and software ( you may be able to see it on some of the threads) and I also emailed that info to the developers, but it is Logic Pro 10.5.1 on an intel mac pro desktop. To recap, the issue went away when I rebooted⦠see previous threads if interested. Initially after the update I experienced the issue. So I simply rebooted thinking to remove the plugin and reinstall but after the reboot all is good. Now I have not tried it yet today or done another shut down. If the problems arise again I will post on the thread ⦠the emails got crossed as I emailed the support team prior to the new 2.0.7 release.I thank you for the assistance thus far.
Yeah, looks like I have to bow out on a Logic Pro discussion, and also on any Mac related stuff!
This reinforces the need to have this forum broken down into Windows Vs Mac sections, and possibly different DAWs within those sections, if any of the Mods are looking in ā¦
Excellent idea! I hope they release an updated manual. Great app⦠when it works as expected.
I may even later get a few more voices but those voices are expensive but less expensive than hiring singers I suppose. I did initially have reservations with all the critique about AI . But I equate AI now in production as MIDI WAS back in the day. A tool when used with decorum that can Enhance creativity while not having to depend or rely on others.
talking about issues, Iām having problem when using the āexport as midiā function when using the stand alone version of Synth V 2.0.7. The MIDI file it generates is garbage. Tried to import the file in my DAW, Waveform Tracktion 13.3 and it is unusable.
I donāt use SV2 in standalone. Perhaps someone here will read your post and be of assistance. You can also email dreamtonics support. See the dreamtonics page. They are usually responsive.
Hint⦠make sure all the notes are in what they call a group. Or are not partially in a group. However I think SV2 automatically creates groups for you⦠You can tell a group as it will have an outline around your note performance. Iām also new to SV2 and never used the first version so Iām not going to be very helpful. Someone in the forum may aide you.
I am on v2.0.7 and just did a couple of MIDI exports with no problem, first a simple, short vocal only track then a full song I have that also has wav tracks for instrumental parts, both worked without issue, the second only exported the vocal track, obviously, but I wanted to see if it would get upset by the task.
The resultant MIDI tracks correctly showed lyrics and tempo changes.
There are extraneous notes for ābrā notes that need deleting, but so be it.
For info, I played the MIDI tracks with MuseScore.
